A fine example of an Italian / Venetian gondola lantern with painted hexagonal metal surround with rosette decorated crests, glass panels intact, suspended on a swinging metal support in old green paint, mounted on a red and white striped post, terminating with a painted wooden support base. Dates to the 19th century in very good overall condition, with great patina, some gilt and paint losses, as well as expected surface wear from age and use.
