New ListingRARE! Antique BLAKE'S PATENT 1852 - D.D. MILLER N.Y. Brass Whale Oil Arm Lantern
SOLD $5,800.00 Sold: Mar 8, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Up for auction today is an estate fresh RARE! Antique Vintage - BLAKE'S PATENT 1852 - Brass Railroad Arm Lantern with Etched presentation Fixed Globe Oil Lantern. I sold another one a few months back but it did not have the D.D. MILLER MANUFACTURER marking that this one has. (A rare and very unusual lantern, this allowed the ticket to be held in one hand and punched in the other hand with the lantern on your arm.) The lantern measures approximately 18 1/2 inches tall with the handle up, 14 1/2 inches tall with the handle down and 6 inches across the bottom. The lantern is strong and sturdy with no cracks, rusted through holes or repairs - the frame leans a bit slightly near the top, a few small dents on the top area as pictured and the frame will need some solvent to separate the upper and lower sections as the whale oil gunk has froze it and I do not want to do any damage. The original fixed globe has no chips or cracks and retains the original plaster - it is etched J.B. BROWN with a floral design. The base is signed BLAKES PATENT JANY 1852 and the number 10 as well as D.D. MILLER MANUFACTURER 190 WATER ST. NEW YORK (this was one of the earliest premier brass lantern makers in New York City.) Please Enlarge each photo and zoom in for a closer look and judge for yourself the condition! You are guaranteed to get the exact Item pictured in this auction. Cool Piece! All items are sold "as is." (Please Enlarge each photo and zoom in for a closer look and judge for yourself the condition) Guaranteed 100% old and authentic! NO RESERVE.Please ask all questions before you bid. Because all items are found from estates, they are sold "as is."Buyer to pay shipping and handling fees. I have never had any problems with breakage and pack very carefully.Thank you for bidding and GOOD LUCK!! (Condition: Pre-Owned)
